New government, first question: haven't we met?

11 members of the new government were in the old one. The AI ministry, at least, is new.

The news

Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri's government was appointed on 16 October 2026. At appointment it had 30 ministers and ministers delegate plus its head, including seven women when she is counted.

Eleven of its members previously served in the Akhannouch government: Laftit, Bourita, Ouahbi, Toufiq, Lekjaa, Baraka, Mezzour, Bensaid, Kayouh, El Midaoui and Loudyi.

New this time: a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation and Administrative Reform, led by Ahmed Rahhou.

Change has arrived, just with the same people. Lekjaa moved from the Budget to the whole of Economy and Finance, and some ministers didn't even change offices. Citizens are watching a new season of the same show.

The AI ministry is a good idea. We hope it starts with a simple task: read the old election platforms and tell us what was actually done.
