Minister for 48 hours: is there a sieve before the appointment?
Appointed on the 16th, out on the 18th. The question isn't about the person, it's about the sieve.
The news
Madiha Khayr was appointed Minister Delegate for Vocational Training and Qualification on 16 October 2026. On 18 October, her duties were ended at the request of the Head of Government.
Before the House of Councillors on 21 October, the Head of Government said she had no information raising suspicion when the government was formed, that new elements emerged afterwards, and she rejected any suggestion of disarray.
Also on 21 October, Khayr submitted her resignation from the House of Representatives, according to TelQuel.
The decision was quick. The question is why it didn't come earlier.
The commentary
Satirical opinion from the editorsWe pass no judgement on the person, and we won't get into the documents that went round WhatsApp. What interests us is the procedure.
To rent a flat, you need a guarantor, a work certificate and a payslip. To become a minister, the information arrives after the appointment. And 48 hours is a parcel delivery window, not a government term.
